2021 Social Justice Sauvignon Blanc
The bright, yet balanced, acidity of the wine teases the nose before it delights the palate. As mandarin, orange zest, and grapefruit pith burst forth on the nose before softening to pluot and ripe pear, you are offered a glimpse into the wines textural experience. The mid-palate raciness of this wine is a perfect complement to the aromatics, with added hints of gooseberry resting in the finish.
2021 offered us a small but fierce crop regardless of the lack of seasonal rains that we are accustomed to. The ideal ripening weather throughout the summer, paired with minimal heat spikes, offered spectacular fruit that held a high concentration of flavor and an increased skin to juice ratio. Both the whites and the reds retained acidity as the grapes flavor and fruit development progressed. Our ample, and welcomed, ripening time allowed for an abundance of pronounced aromatics and elegant fruit for our wines.
